   Moving Day Safety Tips

Moving day can present many challenges. While time and money are important, it is vital to take steps to ensure your safety as well as     others who are assisting with the moving process. Here are a couple  of our favorite safety moving tips to help you.

Ask for Assistance

Do not try to move heavy boxes or furniture on your own. Rather, find a partner such as a family member or friend who is physically equipped to assist you. Another option is to use proper moving equipment such  as a dolly or a cart. As a general rule, the more people you have to help throughout the moving process, the safer and faster the day will go.

Plan Ahead

Having a plan in place for the big moving  day ahead of time will decrease stress and minimize risks. A plan should include knowing what   rooms will be moved in what order, having boxes labeled for each room, and having an understanding of how to properly move the  heavy items. If you are hiring a professional moving team,  labeling all boxes is the best way to ensure the boxes are set in  the correct room of the new home. If you are moving on your own, be sure to have all necessary moving equipment available for time of need. This includes dollies, carts, and furniture sliders.
