Find a homeschool group:

Before you move, research homeschool groups that will be in your new area. Facebook is a good place to find a group. A homeschool group is a wonderful way to make new friends, not only for yourself but for your children as well. This will also help with homeschool co-ops and finding actives for your children.

Visit the library:

While you are house hunting take a trip to the local library. Find out if they are a homeschool-friendly library.  Ask about homeschool activities and other homeschool families in the area.

Pack Wisely:

When you are packing your kids’ learning materials, make sure you label them properly, and have a pack back for reading, drawing, and playing games available while traveling and for the arrival in your new home.  Make sure the homeschool boxes are last on the moving truck and first off the moving truck!

Take a Break:

After the move take some time to explore the new area with your family. Do something fun to break up the stress. Relax and take a few days off from homeschooling.
