With the moving season still going here are a few ideals to help you save money and time. It doesn't matter if you are moving into a four bedroom house or a condo down the street. We want you to have the best move possible...
Unwanted stuff - Start the decluttering process, this always takes longer then we think. Start getting rid of all the unwanted items, from the toy's your kids no longer play with, to the coffee cups in your kitchen cupboards. Try to start this at least a month before the moving date.
Moving into an apartment or condo - Check to see if you need to reserve the elevator with the buildings management. You don't want to pay a moving company for the extra time it will take to share the elevator. Plus some building's only allow moves on certain days and times.
Disassemble furniture - If you can disassemble the furniture from beds, to kitchen/dinning room tables, office desks, etc. This will save you money with the moving company because you won't have to pay them to disassemble and reassemble your furniture.
Prep the inside & outside of your home - Make sure you have clear pathways throughout your home, and to the moving truck. It will take the movers extra time to clear those pathways which means more money out of your pocket.
Pack an overnight bag - Even if your move is small, pack a bag of personal items. You never know if you will be able to unpack everything in one day, and it is always nice to have your personal items handy.
Stayed fueled & hydrated - It's easy to get so busy you forget about drinking plenty of water, and eating a proper meal. Make sure you have plenty of bottled water and health snacks to keep you going.
